“The Northman” 2022 Review 

Alexander Skarsgård had always been attracted towards Viking history; Similarly, Robert Eggers also became interested in making Viking film after his Iceland trip. When Skarsgård met with Eggers the two began work on its screenplay. Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Anya Taylor-Joy, Gustav Lind, Ethan Hawke, Björk and Willem Dafoe are among the movie cast who are only few names among the other prominent actors. It was in Northern Ireland that the vast majority of film scenes were shot.

The Northman was released in Stockholm  at Rigoletto Cinema on March 08, 2022 .Its theatrical release started in some countries on April 13,2022 and in the United States on April 22, 2022. Robert Eggers direction was widely praised, as well as the Screenplay, cinematography, cast performance and visual effects. However, it failed to make its mark in the worldwide box office. Though, VOD helped recovered production cost.

The movie unfolds the story of Viking prince, driven by fury and vengeance; he began a journey to avenge for his father’s murder. In the cold landscape of Iceland, he pursues to regain his lost family and kingdom. With unwavering determination, he was in relentless pursuit of his sworn enemy, bound by the destiny. His path was intertwined with threads of destiny .He was so revengeful that not even divine intervention can stop him from his quest of justice.

One film costs between $70-90 million; this is 15% higher than the budget intended for that project. A week after its theatrical release, The Northman made a debut on VOD on May 13, 2022. A month later, it came out on digital on June 6, 2022 and on Blu-ray DV a week after on June 7, 2022.Due to VOD, film could become a commercial success.

The Northman revenue in US was $34.2 million and worldwide $35.4 million. Worldwide total was $69.6 million.

Movie was reported approval rating of 90% with average Rating of 7.7. Film received several Accolades for best picture award , best Director award, Best Actor award, Best supporting actresses award, Outstanding locations award, Best thriller film award, Best Costume design award, Best Cinematography award, Best production design award, Best original score for Action / adventure, Best Science.
